The heart attitude behind this widow’s giving exemplifies the “giving” God wants from believers. The creator of the universe does not need two pennies or $2 million, nor is he asking us to deplete our bank accounts. It is not about the amount but the heart behind the giving. Giving has a three-fold purpose – it shows God we truly trust him to provide; it shows the world we are serious about our faith; and we demonstrate to ourselves a life of integrity, where our actions line up with our faith in Christ.
